Too many dreamers go abroad to live and take a pot of money but have no monthly income and for most no hope. A solid plan of spending needs to be worked out beforehand with little if any deviation from it and if the sums don't add up then don't do it. My dream is to retire in Thailand and right now I could probably survive 5 to 6 six years on the money I have but that's way short of what I need. In another few years that survival stretch will be a lot longer and enable me to plan longer term.
